Rob Petrie, general manager of the Collingwood football club `LOOK, apart from the footy, there's not much else you can fit on the cultural calender at the moment. I did go to the MCG and see Paul McCartney, however. He's not a particular hero of mine _ I'm 46, so I'm in the age group, but was never a Beatle cult person _ but the concert proved to be a real thrill. Not as much a thrill for me as the 1990 grand final, mind you, but what the McCartney show did with the open-air venue and 60,000 spectators was amazing. The clarity of sound was brilliant, and the visuals _ three great video screens, each the size of three scoreboards, capturing all the close-ups and highlights _ meant you didn't miss a thing. The best songs were the old ones, of course, but the show built such an atmosphere that the crowd loved the whole event. If it had rained there may have been a different result."
