THE biggest horse racing event on the nation 's
calender is less than two weeks away, and now is the time to plan a big girls'
(or guys') day out.
On Tuesday, November 5, all heads will swivel towards the closest
television screen to watch the most popular horse
race of the year.
The Pacific International Waterfront Resort at The Entrance will be hosting a gourmet buffet lunch on the day at Changing Tides Restaurant, for $65 per
person.
The price includes champagne cocktails, lunch and a fashion parade by Aqua Pacific Clothing.
There will be lucky door prizes, sweeps and a competition with prizes for the best hat.
Bookings are essential - phone the restaurant on 4334-8015.
The Grand Hotel at Wyong is another venue that should be popular with the ladies on the day.
A huge fashion parade will be held, showcasing a whole range of gorgeous clothing.
The luncheon costs just $15 per person.
And three televisions will be set out around the room to capture the action from Flemington.
The Beachcomber Hotel at Toukley is offering two lunch options on the day - either a $10 barbecue at the Boatshed Cafe or a $35
per person luncheon at Beachie Bites, with fresh prawns, oysters and a carvery on offer.
A Caribbean band will play throughout the day
as well.
Budgewoi Soccer Club is also having a $10 per
person luncheon, which also includes a glass of champagne and delicious devonshire teas.
Fashions will be on
display and there will be prizes galore, give-aways and sweeps.
Norah Head Bowling and Sports Club will feature live entertainment on the day of the Cup, from
popular band Calcutta.
A Best Hat competition will be held, mystery prizes given away and sweeps for those who enjoy a flutter.
Good luck.
